Blue/purple highlights?

i have dark brown hair and i'm either dying my hair blue or purple. should i get highlights or die the under layers of my hair. what do u think would look good. pictures would be helpful.

IMHO, I like purple with dark brown hair because you can't it unless it's in the sun, and then it looks really exotic. Purple seems like a sexier color to me because of the subtleness.

Still, do the color test with two shirts, holding one at a time up to your face in the mirror...in good lighting. If one really stands out, that's your answer! :)

i always thot that blond highlights looked good with brown hair. but it seems that your going for a more wilder side, so if ur gonna get purple or blue in your hair, i would definately go with the highlights

depends on the community you live in and your lifestyle. If you're a young person out working in a fairly straitlaced community, getting blue or purple lower layers would be preferable, easier to hide.

If your boss is okay with it, or you're not of an age to worry about it, by all means highlight it.

But perhaps I'm biased, I used to have golden blonde with turquoise blue :) It was fun while it lasted

Um,i think purple would be awsome! (I had pink myself) but if you have longer hair i would say highlights! But if its short i would dye the under layers! I bet it would look great! :-)
