Different ways to highlight your hair?

I wanting to rehighlight my hair but I want to do it in a different kind of way. I've dyed my hair blue, had blue streaks (which never really showed in my hair), I've had red highlight, brown hightlights and even blonde. I thinking about dying my hair back to black and putting red in it but how?
